FastSpecFit Spectral Synthesis and Emission-Line Catalog¶
Overview¶
FastSpecFit is a stellar continuum and emission-line modeling code
for DESI which is optimized for speed and simplicity.
The code operates in two modes: fastspec uses physically motivated
stellar population synthesis and emission-line templates to jointly
model the three-camera optical spectrophotometry from DESI
simultaneously with the ultraviolet through infrared broadband
photometry.
Meanwhile, fastphot uses the same stellar population synthesis
templates (fixed at the DESI redshift) to model just the ultraviolet
through infrared broadband photometry.
For a complete description of FastSpecFit please refer to the
complete documentation{:

In this value-added catalog (VAC), we present the fastspec VAC; for
the corresponding fastphot VAC, please see the FastPhot Spectral
Synthesis Catalog documentation.
